The Logan County Lady Cougars were finally able to start their season this week. The weather has kept the Lady Cougars from getting on the field but on Thursday the Lady Cougars would play their first game against Barren County. The Lady Cougars would end the game with a tough loss of 13-1 to the Trojanettes.

Several varsity players were out of town for a school trip, but several younger players stepped in to fight against the Trojanettes on Thursday.

The Trojanettes would start the game off strong and get several hits early in the game. The Lady Cougars would play good defense, but the Trojanettes would place their hits in the gaps. By the second inning of the game, the Trojanettes would have a 10-0 lead over the Lady Cougars.

The Lady Cougars would play two quick innings and only allow the Trojanettes to score one run. The Trojanettes would still hold a 11-0 lead over the Lady Cougars going into the fifth and final inning of the game.

The Trojanettes would add two more runs to their score at the top of the fifth. The Lady Cougars would have one more chance to score at the bottom of the fifth. Senior Shelby Milam would make it on base and would eventually score for the Lady Cougars, but they would still fall 13-1.

Even though the Lady Cougars lost their first game, they would travel to Warren Central on Friday night and get their first win of the season against the Lady Dragons. They would end the game with a 9-5 win.

The Lady Cougars will host University Heights Academy on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
