The Logan County Lady Cougars and the Russellville Lady Panthers faced each other on Friday night in the annual Clash of the Cats game. The two teams battled hard throughout the game, but it would be the Lady Cougars to take the victory for a second time this season. The Lady Cougars would win 52-38 on Friday night.


In the first quarter, the two teams would stay close together but the Lady Cougars would start to pull away from the Lady Panthers. By the end of the quarter, the Lady Cougars would hold a five point lead of 13-8 over the Lady Panthers.


The Lady Panthers would begin to make some plays in the second quarter and begin to get closer to the Lady Cougars. The Lady Cougars would only hold a three point lead of 19-16 over the Lady Panthers by the end of the first half.


The Lady Cougars would begin to pull away in the third quarter of the game and end it with a ten point lead of 36-26. The Lady Cougars continued to fight hard and increase their gap between the Lady Panthers and end the game with a 14 point win of 52-38.


Senior Katelyn Jones would lead the Lady Cougars with 13 points. Jones would be followed by Brooke Barnes with nine points. Maegann Hardison and senior Megan Lindsey would end the game with eight points each.


Senior Khalia Hampton would lead the Lady Panthers with 24 points. Senior Devonna Sydnor would follow with seven points.


The Lady Panthers will have their next game this Saturday as they travel to Warren Central to face the Lady Dragons at 2:30. The Lady Cougars will travel to Hopkins County Central tonight and will play at 7:30.
