Cougars, Panthers host golf match
The Logan County Cougar and the Russellville Panther golf teams had a home match on Monday against the Greenwood Gators. The Cougars had their lowest score they have had all season which was a 154, but their low score wasn’t good enough to beat the Gators after they shot a 149.
Ben Wright led the Cougars with a score of 37. Wright was followed by Kenton Howard who shot a 38, Carson Zibert who shot a 39 and Wesley Estes who shot a 40. Jack Wright finished the night with a 52, Matthew Hughes had a score of 56 and Joey Dilliha with a 67.
Travis McDaniel was the only golfer for the Russellville boys team and he shot a 50.
The Lady Cougars had a team score of 202. They fell to the Greenwood Lady Gators who had a score of 167.
Sarah Fite led the Lady Cougars with a score of 37. Fite was followed by Grace Harris who shot a 48, Meredith Johnson with a 58, Katlyn Odle with a 59 and Maeson Hayes with a 60.
Russellville had two golfers for their girls team. Mallory Bush who shot a 56 and Brittany Lyne who had a score of 59.
Their last home match will be Monday against Muhlenberg County. The Cougars will compete in the regional tournament on September 30 at Kenny Perry’s Course in Franklin. The Lady Cougars will compete on October 1 at the Tomkinsville Country Club in Monroe County.
