Fourth grade Stevenson Elementary School student May Ouansombath got blasted by wind during an experiment used to prove the presence of air during Wild Weather Day for all fourth graders at SES last week. Wild Weather Day was presented by Hooked on Science Founder Jason Lindsey, an award-winning science educator, author and former chief meteorologist. SES teacher Keela Osborne said Lindsey “showed students, through hands-on activities, concepts such as properties of air, high and low pressure, cold fronts and warm fronts, tornado and lightning.” She said “students took away a deep understanding of weather” from the program.
