On May 13 at approximately 12 p.m., Auburn Police Officer Ed Higgins and agents from the South Central Kentucky drug Task Force (SCKDTF), made a traffic stop on Pearl Street in Auburn on a 1996 Ford Thurderbird. The driver, James W. Buckle of Auburn, was stopped for not wearing a seat belt.
After interviewing Buckle, officers received consent to search. Officers also observed items in plain view that were associated with the process of making methamphetamine.
During the search of the inside of the vehicle, an active meth lab was located along with several items used in manufacturing methamphetamine.
Buckle was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of meth precursor, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On May 4 at approximately 5:13 p.m., Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyler Harvey conducted a traffic stop on Emerson Bypass for charges of speeding six miles over the limit and improper equipment.
Upon contact, Derek C. Reeves, 19, of Russellville, was arrested and charged with speeding 6 miles over the limit; improper equipment; operating a vehicle with an expired operator license; possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
