The Logan County Sheriff’s Department has made another string of drug arrests in the past week.
In all, five individuals were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, among other charges.
On Thursday, March 20, deputy Kyler Harvey conducted a traffic stop of a maroon 1995 GMC Sierra that was travelling west on US 68 west for careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt. Upon further investigation, Harvey found methamphetamine, a set of digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.
Jame W. Coots, 30 or Bowling Green, was then arrested and chard with failure to wear a seat belt, careless driving, possession of methamphetamine, no registration plates, failure to maintain proof of insurance, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
Also on Thursday, March 20, Harvey made a second drug arrest following a traffic stop.
At 7:10 p.m. on Terry Wilcutt Highway, Harvery stopped Tony R. Hunter, Jr., 20 of Adairville, on charges of improper equipment. After searching the vehicle, deputies found methamphetamine, marijuana, a set of digital scales, a loaded hand gun, several items used in making meth, an active meth lab and several other items of drug paraphernalia.
Hunter was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of improper equipment, failure to produce an insurance card, receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of methamphetamine, possession or marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a meth precursor and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
On Wednesday, March 19, Kentucky State Trooper Joe Gregory conducted a traffic stop on Greenridge Spa Road and requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Department. After an investigation, a substantial amount of methamphetamine was found in the vehicle and on the person of James W. Buckle, 28 of Lewisburg, James S. Carr, 43 of Lewisburg, and Vingie Moore, 42 of Lewisburg.
Both Carr and Moore were arrested by Gregory and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Buckle was arrested by Sergent Clint Wright and charged with possession of methamphetamine and posses of drug paraphernalia. All three suspects were lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
