A pair of books with connections to Logan County and southern Kentucky will be featured this weekend at a signing event at Barnes & Noble in Bowling Green.
Secrets of Willow Shade by Jean Thompson Kinsey and Christmas Hotel: The Christmas Hotel Series, Book 1 by Saundra Staats McLemore will both be featured from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Barnes & Noble.
The Secrets of Willow Shade, a historical fiction novel, is actually set in Logan County.
Secrets of Willow Shade by Jean Thompson Kinsey is set in rural southern Kentucky in the late nineteen-seventies.
In Secrets of Willow Shade, Maddy Kennedy uncovers evidence leading her to believe she may be a descendant of the infamous Jesse James family. Another self-proclaimed descendant believes James left a large inheritance. He wants his share and is willing to kill to get it. She finds her real father, but he denies knowing her or her deceased mother. All clues lead to dead ends until her estranged husband, Kenneth offers to help.
Kinsey prompts readers to laugh, cringe, and root her on as she takes Maddy down country roads leading to a deserted cemetery, a shaky swinging bridge, and a dark, chilling cave, a possible hideout for a murderer.
Kinsey’s print books can be ordered through most physical bookstores. Her eBooks are available at Barnes & Noble and other online stores.
Jean Kinsey will discuss and answer questions about Secrets of Willow Shade. With the purchase of the first two books, she is giving away a gift card for the download of her 2nd e-Book in her Logan County Trilogy, Shadows in the Shade. The complete Logan County trilogy is now available in eBook format for Nook, Kindle, and most eBook readers. Her first novel, The Light Keepers Daughter will also be available.
