Auto accident causes car to split in half

An accident which occurred Wednesday evening in downtown Lewisburg resulted in the splitting in two of one of the vehicles involved.

On Nov. 6, at approximately 5:10 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Department received a call of an accident with injuries around the 600 block of South Main Street in Lewisburg.

Upon arrival and further investigation, deputies determined a utility trailer that was attached to a red 1999 Dodge pickup truck, occupied by Aaron Bratton, 22, of Lewisburg, was partially in the roadway of the northbound lane.

According to reports, a black 1999 Honda, occupied by Sydni Ross, 19, of Russellville, was traveling northbound on Main Street when she struck the rear end of the trailer causing her vehicle to spin in a counter clockwise direction.

Ross’s vehicle crossed into he southbound lane and was struck in the passenger side by a white 1999 Pontiac traveling southbound on Main Street. The Pontiac was occupied by Tyrone Posey, 30, of Russellville, Jeanie Shoemake, 31, of Russellville and two juveniles.

Ross and one of the juveniles was transported by EMS to Logan Memorial Hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Sgt. Clint Wright of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident. He was assisted at the scene by sheriff Wallace Whittaker, deputy Kyler Harvey, deputy Seth Williford, Lewisburg Police Chief Allan Allsup, the Logan County EMS and the Lewisburg Fire Department.
