Approximately 200 people turned out Wednesday for the Family Health Fest at Logan Memorial Hospital as part of this year’s Tobacco & Heritage Festival events.

Thirty exhibitors were on hand to offer information about services and health offerings available in the community. In addition to children’s activities, health screenings were offered. Participants were also treated to a complimentary meal catered by Roy’s BBQ.

“The Family Health Fest is a great opportunity for Logan Memorial to showcase the many services available right here in our community, as well as help participants better understand the importance of preventative testing like digital mammography and colonoscopy. A popular booth this year was Community Health Center of Western Kentucky. In addition to having their clinical providers on hand to answer questions, they also had a representative available to answer questions about the new Healthcare Marketplace.” said Michelle Mitchell, Director of Business Development at Logan Memorial Hospital.

The Family Health Fest is one of the bigger midweek events in the Tobacco & Heritage Festival. The festival continues today with the Senior Stroll and the tobacco judging event. And of course the big day is Saturday with the parade downtown, the bank robbery reenactment and the music and vendors on the square, among many other events.
