Man arrested for trafficking pot, endangering child

During a safety checkpoint on Nashville Road on Saturday night, the Russellville Police Department made an arrest and confiscated approximately six pounds of marijuana.
During the checkpoint just in front of Brown’s Tobacco Warehouse on 431 South (Nashville Road) officers approached a 2004 Pontiac driven by 23-year-old Lora Miller and detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The front passenger was identified as 33-year-old Colby Arnold and a 7-year-old child was asleep in the back seat.
During the search of the vehicle and persons involved, officers found approximately six pounds of marijuana and around $800 in cash.
Arnold was arrested, charged and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of trafficking in marijuana (over five pounds), endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigating officer was Mary L. Moore.
