There are many exciting steps being taken by those who are listening to God’s direction in our community. One of those are founders, members and volunteers of the Life Choice Pregnancy Care Center, which is currently on its way to becoming a reality.
Life Choice Pregnancy Care Center will be based in Logan County, but serve Todd and Simpson Counties as well. It will be a place for pregnant women who feel they have no where to turn. A non-denominational faith based place where they could go to receive help through counseling, pregnancy testing, ministry and adoption referral. A place where they would feel supported, not judged. A place where they could receive assistance before and after having their babies.
The Life Choice Center is located at 152 North Blakey Street, Russellville. There is a board of directors and plans are continuing on an opening date very soon.
Some of the up-and-coming events the public can become involved in include:
Life Choice will be opening the center to the public on Saturday, Oct. 8th (the day of the Tobacco Festival parade) from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and from 12:30-3:30 p.m. This will be a great time for everyone in the community to see the new center. The center will not be open for care yet, however, this will allow the public to see that Life Choice is making progress and answer any questions the public may have. Life Choice will have a table somewhere around BB&T to direct people to the center on that day.
DAY OF PRAYER
There will be a special time of prayer for the Life Choice Pregnancy Care Center serving Logan, Todd and Simpson Counties. Prayer will begin in the parking lot, then move inside to pray over each room. This is open to the public and everyone is invited to join on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m.
Life Choice will be hosting its first fundraiser/banquet this fall on Nov. 3 at the Logan County Extension Office. Organizers are currently opening this event to the public, but seating is limited so please R.S.V.P. by Oct. 3 if you would like to attend. Funds raised will get Life Choice closer to its first year’s budget. Logan, Todd, and Simpson Counties: Let’s value life… together! Please contact 270-772-4298 with questions or to R.S.V.P.
Speaker for the event is Heather Hawkins, Mobile Operations Manager at Alpha Alternative Pregnancy Care Center in Hopkinsville.
Tickets will not be available at the door.
“God’s word continually teaches us the value of one,” said Shelby Baldwin of Life Choice. “In Luke 15, Jesus tells two parables to teach us just how valuable one is, One Lost Sheep and One Lost Son. In these parables, both the Shepard and the father of the lost son, pursue and work to retrieve their “one”. When I think about Life Choice, I often reflect on these parables, because that is our mission. If just one life is saved, if just one more soul gets to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, all of the work, all of our “pursuit” is beyond worth it. We believe in the value of just ONE life! Every life matters to God and every life matters to us.”
