Tennessee man arrested for assaulting girlfriend in moving car

On Sept. 6, 2016, at approximately 5:04 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to multiple complaints of a rolling domestic on Bowling Green Road. Callers were stating the male driver was assaulting a female passenger and that it appeared he was trying to throw her from the vehicle.

Upon arrival to the area, a black Chevrolet Impala was located on C Dodson Road. The vehicle was being operated by 35-year-old Brandon Simpson of Nashville, Tenn.

Through further investigation, it was found that Simpson had been assaulting his girlfriend Cassie Harrison of Springfield, Tenn. while driving down the roadway.

Harrison stated that she attempted to exit the vehicle when Simpson grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back into the vehicle.

Harrison suffered multiple injuries from the assault. She was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

Simpson was arrested and charged with assault 4th degree (domestic violence); unlawful imprisonment 1st degree; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st offense, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Simpson was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.

Sergeant Clint Wright of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department was the arresting deputy. He was assisted on scene by Captain David Kitchens of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department and the Logan County EMS.
