Body found in the Green River

The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received a report Saturday, July 23 at approximately 6:48 a.m. from someone who was fishing in the Green River near Johnson Springs Road in Hart County. The individual advised that they had found what appeared to be a body.

When Detectives arrived on the scene they found a dismembered body in a container floating in the Green River.

Hart County Coroner Reggie Pettit responded to the scene and assisted with the investigation. Pettit transported the remains to the Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.

The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Detective Josh Amos. No other details are available for release at this time.
