RPD arrest two for bad checks

On Monday, Aug. 18, the Russellville Police Department was dispatched to the Auburn Bank branch after receiving a call that an unruly man was attempting to cash a fraudulent check.

When officers arrived at the bank, they found Daniel Wright, of Old Hickory, Tenn., to be in possession of a fraudulent check. Wright was arrested at the scene for public intoxication and possession of a forged instrument.

After further investigation, officers discovered that a second suspect had come into the bank and cashed the same check before leaving the scene. The RPD later found and arrested the second suspect, Jesse Fly of Franklin, Tenn., on West 2nd Street where he was found with approximately $100 in cash.

The investigating officer was Matthew Humble.
