July 3, 2014

Retiring Logan County Schools Superintendent Marshall H. Kemp was recently honored by the Logan County Board of Education by having the 2014 Olmstead Elementary School addition dedicated as The Marshall H. & Cynthia Mason Kemp Preschool Learning Center. The late Mrs. Kemp was a long time preschool teacher at Olmstead. Mr. Kemp is retiring effective June 30, 2014 after forty two and one-half years in education. He has been superintendent of Logan County Schools for the past fifteen years.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to pay tribute to Mr. Kemp for his many years of dedicated service to the Logan County Schools than to have a portion of the building that has meant so much to him and his late wife bear their names in perpetuity,” stated Kenneth Robertson, school board chairman. Mr. Kemp said “It is truly humbling for me and my family to be remembered this way. It has been a privilege to serve the children of Logan County these past many years.”
