Former pastor receives maximum sentence for indecent exposure

Kevin Lohse, a former pastor for Woodlawn Baptist Church in Russellville, was sentenced Friday, March 28 on an indecent exposure charge stemming from an incident where he showed his genitals to a 15-year-old female in Burke’s Outlet on Feb. 13 of this year.

County Attorney Joe Ross asked for the maximum sentence for the Class B Misdemeanor which carries a 90 day sentence. Ross aid after speaking with the victims family, he agreed to probate 15 days of that sentence on the condition of completing counseling. Lohse has already served 18 of that sentence with 57 more days to go.

Lohse plead guilty to the charge after being arrested Feb. 26. Video surveillance from Burke’s Outlet was obtained by the police, and a still image of Lohse was posted to the Russellville Police Department’s Facebook page asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male. The photo quickly garnered a response of over 600 “shares” and resulted in Lohse turning himself into authorities on Feb. 21st.

According to a police, Lohse, confessed to investigators that he inappropriately exposed himself to a young girl in Burke’s Outlet. Lohse’s seven year old son was with him at the time. He could clearly been seen manipulating the zipper of his pants to expose his genitals, and presenting himself to the juvenile female who was shopping in the junior’s section of Burke’s.
