He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. Psalm 105:17-19 (KJV)
With what Joseph went through, many of us would have thrown in the towel a long time ago. We need to understand that since God sent me, therefore I can’t be stopped. The reason we can have this mindset is because of verse19. Psalm 105:19 (KJV) Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him. The reason Joseph was tested was because there was a Word over his life.
God gave Joseph a dream but He didn’t give him the details of His destiny. Why because God wants you to exercise your faith. Other words God wants to know do you trust Him, do you believe Him. To Joseph his world didn’t match his word. But he was aware that he was on assignment and remained faithful through it all. Don’t get to a point in your life that you treat a temporary situation like it is a life sentence.
Your opinion of the situation doesn’t change the fact of God’s ability to work all things together in the midst of the situation. Joseph had the gift of interpreting dreams and of management. Joseph exercised his gift no matter where he was at. Everywhere he went even the places he didn’t like he kept exercising his gift. No matter where you’re at just keep on keeping on.
God will put us in uncomfortable environments in our life to help cultivate the gift He has assigned to us. Why because when you get to the place of promise you will be able to exercise your gift and not have to work on it. Sometimes it is the gift that keeps you going.
James 1:2-4 (KJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
