Two felons arrested, several guns found

The Russellville Police Department arrested two individuals on Monday, Oct. 14 after discovering they were in possession of firearms, which is illegal if you have been convicted of a felony, which both have.

Officers were investigating a disturbance near the intersection of North Caldwell and East Second Street at approximately 2 a.m. on Second Street when it was determined that Eric Arnold, the homeowner, and Stephen Baskerville, had handguns on their persons during the altercation.

The Russellville Police Department obtained a search warrant, and after conducting a search of the residence located a AK-47 along with numerous handguns.

Police arrested Arnold and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon (3 counts), and possession of a defaced firearm. Baskerville was arrested and charged with a possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Both subjects were lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
