I live in the city limits of Auburn. There have been grain bins built behind my house. They are behind Main St. and across from Auburn School.
I have lived in Auburn most of my life and was living here when the bins were built.
In the last several months the bins were sold to Jamie Summers of Franklin, and he has put in a new dryer. Since corn season and everything running, my property and surrounding properties have been covered with the husk coming from this business. My house, windows, and screens are covered. You can’t open windows because of what blows in. Everyone, including school children when on the playground, is breathing this.
When the dryer is running, the noise is like a train in your house. This runs most of the time at night. Sleep is very difficult. There are children going to school and adults going to work without sleep.
I along with neighbors have asked city government for help, along with EPA and the health dept. We have not received any help.
There have been health issues with people on the street.
I have been told that Jamie Summers has been laughing about our complaints.
If you live in Auburn or have children that you care about in Auburn School, I ask for you to help us by asking city government for more help than we have received.
