All fourth grade students in both the Logan County and Russellville Independent school districts loaded up onto buses and headed out to the Logan County Extension Complex on Thursday for the annual Logan County Progressive Agriculture Safety Day.
There was about 400 children and over 100 adult volunteers who taught them at a variety of different learning centers.
Some of the things students learned about included fire safety, food safety, staying safe around eletrical lines, and how to be safe around tractors, lawn mowers and ATVs.
The day was capped off with students watching a simulated rescue.
The students got to see how the EMT’s work through traumatic injuries and how a trapped person is freed from an automobile. PHI also brought in a helicopter to witness the “victim” being taken to an ER for treatment.
