Eugene Gooch, 90, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native born March 26, 1927, to the late Thomas Perry Gooch and Pauline White Gooch. He was a Korean War Veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps, a farmer and maintenance personal with Emerson Electric. He was a member of First Baptist Church and former deacon and he also loved woodworking.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Gooch of Oregon.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene Gooch; daughter, Darlene Gooch of Russellville; brother, Robert Gooch of Clarksville, Tenn.; and sisters, Mary Ellen Bentley of Bowling Green and Ann Preske of Evansville, Ind.

Funeral Services for Eugene Gooch were conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Harvey, Bro. Joe Ball and Steve Hindman officiating with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home was held Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the service hour.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Steve Hindman, John Kees, Jimmy Stuart, Tim Markham, Bobby Huffines and Randy Parrish. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Griffin, Elliott McCarty, Glen Hatler, Smokey Smotherman, Steve Wilkins, Jimmy Wright and his class, the Winky Sosh Men's Class at First Baptist Church.
