Edward Russell Johns, 92, of Coopertown Road, Russellville, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville, Ky.

He was a Logan County native born Sept. 11, 1925, to the late Alvin Lee Johns and Stella Hollingsworth Johns.

He was a United States Army Combat Medic veteran of the Korean Conflict, a farmer and member of Center Baptist Church, Coopertown Road.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lula Mae Johns; one son, Leslie Johns of Russellville, Ky.; one daughter, Janice White and husband Bro. Donnie of Russellville, Ky.; one sister, Mildred Johns Harper of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Kristy White, Karen White and Brian Johns, and two great-grandchildren, Tyson White and Briar Johns.

Funeral services for Edward Russell Johns will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie White officiating. Burial will follow in the Russellville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 11 a.m.

Pallbearers are Teddy White, Timmy White, Mike White, Jason Henderson, Bobby Harper and Richard Robison.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Center Baptist Church or The Gideons. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
