Doris Imogene Wells, 98, of Lewisburg, Ky., passed away Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at the Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green, Ky.

She was born Friday, July 4, 1919, in Butler County, Ky., the daughter of the late Turner Coleman Barton and the late Aubrey Green Barton. She was the wife of the late Walker Wells.

She was a homemaker, avid gardener, and favored cook. She also was a devoted sister and “Granny” to numerous nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of Green Ridge Baptist Church and served many years as church secretary.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law, Shirley Wyatt Barton of Claymore, Faye Barton Boley, and Brenda Miller Barton, both of Russellville.

She was predeceased by brothers, Howard Barton, Lyle Barton, Glyn Barton, Dale Barton, Billy Barton, J.P. Barton, and Larry Barton; sisters, Helen Wells and Myra Wells, and half brother, Clyde Barton.

The family received friends on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, Ky. and again Wednesday, Dec. 20 at the Green Ridge Baptist Church, 7359 Highland Lick Road, Lewisburg, Ky. The funeral service and interment followed at the church. A meal was provided by the church.

Pallbearers were Rick Wells, Troy Wells, Zach Lancaster, Josh Harper, David Beard, Chris Bingham, and Andrew Tarrence. Bro. Tommy Wilhite, and Bro. Robert Tarrence officiated, with Bro. Jim Gifford providing closing prayer.
