Both local teams won the first round of the football playoffs and earned a trip to round two. Logan County beat Warren Central, 54-18, last week. Russellville defeated Fort Knox 41-8 on Friday.

This week, Logan County gets another meeting with Hopkinsville. The game will be at Logan County High School at 7 p.m. The Cougars (11-0) beat the Tigers (5-6) 13-12 on Oc. 5. The game was decided on a last-second touchdown by Tyler Ezell. The first meeting was a defensive showdown from both sides. The Cougars only allowed 16 passing yards and 76 rushing yards in the game. Hopkinsville gave up 83 yards on the ground and 79 yards through the air. Hopkinsville did not score a touchdown in the game. All points were scored by the kicker.

The Panthers (7-4) hit the road to play Campbellsville. The Eagles (5-6) at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The two teams have not yet met this season. Russellville won the meeting last year 57-7.

Campbellsville has 1872 rushing yards this year. The quarterback, Arren Hash, has thrown for 1365 yards on the season. The Panthers have nearly 2000 yards on the ground this season.
