Lady Cougar Sophomore Kennedy Nichols reaches for a rebound last week in a home game against Ohio County. Nichols leads the team in points scored and rebounds through four games.

After losing the first game of the season to Russell County, The Logan County Lady Cougars have now won the last three in a row. On Friday, they traveled to Franklin to face the Lady Cats for the first district 13 contest of the 2017-2018 season.

Logan County (3-1) won the game 58-38 over Franklin. Paige Vanzant led the Lady Cougars in scoring with nine points. Kennedy Nichols, Sarah Beth Hale, and Halie

Borders each finished with eight. Blayke Bingham and Peyton Vanzant scored seven points in the win. Peyton Vanzant hit two 3-point shots, while Hale and Bingham drained one each.

Kennedy Nichols snagged nine rebounds in the big win.

The boys also played a district game against Franklin on Friday. The Wildcats narrowly edged the Cougars 60-57. The loss was the first of the year for Logan County. On Saturday, the Cougars also fell to Daviess County by a score of 81-54. They will look for a win on the road tonight at Warren Central.

The next district games will be against Todd County Central at home on Friday.
