Logan County has a new trophy to add to the case after Thursday night. The Lady Cougars dominated the Lady Rebels in the championship game at Logan County High School. The final score of 56-40 gave the Lady Cougars their first title in two years. Franklin-Simpson won the district last season.

Todd County suffered from cold shooting the entire game on Thursday. During the opening quarter, the Lady Rebels only managed a short jumper and a free-throw. Logan County jumped out to a 10-3 lead after one.

During the second quarter, both teams scored eight points. It was still within reach at the half for Todd County as Logan County held an 18-11 advantage.

Logan County turned it on the third quarter. Sarah Beth Hale and Kennedy Nichols scored five, Paige Vanzant had six, and Peyton Vanzant collected seven before the quarter came to a close. The Lady Cougars were all smiles as the fourth quarter started. They were up 41-21.

O'Daniel often in the final frame. She hit two threes and a pair of short jumpers for ten in the quarter. It would be too little too late for the Lady Rebels. Logan County held on to win 56-40 in a game where they led the entire way.

Paige Vanzant paced the Lady Cougars with 15. Peyton Vanzant had 14 points. Kennedy Nichols scored 11. Sarah Beth Hale finished with ten.

For Todd County, Alexis O'Daniel led with 16. 15 of those points came in the second half. Makayla Artis scored six. Jasmine Mimms and Amy Brumfield had five each.

Both teams will be playing in the Regional tournament at Diddle Arena this week. Logan County (21-10) plays Metcalfe County (10-16) Monday night at 8pm. Todd County plays South Warren (29-3) Tuesday night at 8.
