A multi-victim automobile accident occurred Sunday, Dec. 3 on U.S. 79-Clarksville Road at approximately 5:45 p.m.

According to reports, a 2007 Lincoln Town car driven by 45-year-old Bassem M. Matta of Clarksville, Tenn. was traveling southbound on Clarksville Road when he attempted to overtake another vehicle, entering into the opposite lane of travel, and collided head-on with 19-year-old Shari L. Eash of Russellville who was driving a 2008 Dodge Caravan.

Shari Eash was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Vera Eash, 58, and Jerry Eash, 57, of Russellville were transported to The Medical Center in Bowling Green for their injuries.

A 15-year-old juvenile, also a passenger in the Eash vehicle, was transported by Air Evac Helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. for possible serious injury.

The accident is being investigated by Captain David Kitchens of the Logan County Sheriff's Department.

Assisting at the scene were deputy Jordan Kennedy of the Logan County Sheriff's Department, Russellville Police Officers, Ryan Brown and Samuel Piper, Logan County Sheriff, Wallace Whittaker, Logan County EMS and the Russellville Rural Fire Department.
