A second fatality has occurred in Logan County this week as a result of an automobile accident.

A 19-year-old Bowling Green woman died Saturday, Nov. 25, on US 68-80 near Auburn when the car she was a passenger in left the road and overturned several times.

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, just four days later, 48-year-old Regina F. Kennedy of Elkton, was killed in an automobile accident on Buena Vista Road.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Kennedy’s vehicle, for undetermined reasons, dropped off the right shoulder of the road, traveled a short distance, crossed back over Buena Vista, exiting the left side of the road, and overturned approximately three times. Kennedy was ejected from her vehicle.

Kennedy was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital by Logan County EMS where she was pronounced deceased by Logan County Coroner Mary Givens.

The sheriff’s department was assisted on scene by the Russellville Rural Fire Department.

Sgt. Shaun Embry is the investigating officer. He was assisted at the scene by Sheriff Wallace Whittaker, deputy Laura Hadden, Detective B. Link and deputy Jason Brent of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
