Logan County's Cattleman Association will be hosting its 1st Annual Invitational Indoor Shootout Tractor and Truck Pull Saturday, March 17 at 5 p.m. in the Logan County Ag Arena, 255 John Paul Road, Russellville.

This event is anticipated to be one of the largest pulls ever to be held in Logan County. This will not be an antique pull but includes a super modified 4WD trucks, 6000 Light Hot Farm Tractors, 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors, 2.6 Diesel Trucks, 6000 Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, 8500 Pro Farm Tractors and 13,500 Farm Stock Tractors (12mph).

Both Lonnie Epley and Barry Joe Wright have been involved in the legwork for this event and both are extremely excited this is occurring in Logan County.

"A big pull event in Sturgis, Ky. had to be canceled recently and we felt this would be a great time to have this here," said Wright.

There will be 100 percent paybacks and the event will follow the KTPA rules.

"There has been a lot of work to make this happen," said Epley. "So many have helped work on this event including Richard Taylor of Glasgow."

One of the biggest draws will be the smoke machine that will filter the exhaust from the building.

"Smoke is one of the deterrents to these events for spectators," said Epley. "We are glad to be able to say this event will be smoke-free."

There are currently 72 hook-ups who have preregistered for the event.

Many businesses and individuals have sponsored this event. However, it's not too late if you want to help. For more information, contact Epley at 270-726-0844.

The cost will be $10 per person and kids 10 and under are free.

"We wanted to make sure this event was affordable for families. Having an event in Logan County this big should be for everyone to enjoy," said Wright.

Wright said they are hoping to make this an annual event depending on participation.
